Probably right = Possibly wrong

Swarms of AI agents are breaking out and invading other systems.

Except they’re not.

Instead what’s happening is that software programs are being run across interconnected computers, with unexpected results now requiring greater control.

Implying technology is alive by using anthropomorphic words like swarms, agents, break out and invade not only increases fear (and clicks, ads, revenue) it also absolves responsibility. At a time when we all need to accept more responsibility for our decisions and actions, not less.

Remember AI is a data model not a superintelligent being. Generative AI is powered by probabilistic models that require deterministic controls.

Or in other… clearer… words…

It calculates what’s probably right.

Which by definition then means it’s possibly wrong.

Able to do the unexpected – unexpectedly good and sometimes unexpectedly bad. Requiring reliable controls to be determined by anyone who uses it. Including each of us.

Which is why when looking ahead, we can always expect the unexpected to happen.

Making life both amazing and perplexing.

Making it in

credible.
